Styling Changes and Interior Features

Available in five trims, the 2023 Subaru Legacy offers a configuration for almost every driver. Choose from the affordable Base, the well-appointed Premium, the Sport, the Limited, or the fully-loaded Touring XT. Whichever trim you choose, you'll enjoy the Legacy's bold styling, upgraded grille, and modern, integrated LED headlights and fog lights. It's all part of Subaru's Dynamic x Solid philosophy.

The Legacy sits low and features a wider stance, giving it a tinge of aggressiveness, along with a sleek, elegant curb profile. Subaru's Dynamic x Solid architecture is designed to unify the lineup and infuse every model with a more rugged appearance. It makes sense since Subaru's world-class all-wheel drive system and go-anywhere adventure streak is its core brand value. Dynamic x Solid is all about chiseled body panels and slanted hoods that emphasize sportiness.

Speaking of sportiness, the Legacy Sport embodies performance styling with its red exterior accenting and prominent rear spoiler. A set of 18-inch alloy wheels dress up its curb profile and differentiate it from other trims. Though all Legacy trims include standard all-wheel drive, the Sport trim visually manifests all the ride handling, rough weather traction, and performance cues that the system has come to represent.

Inside the cabin, Subaru puts emphasis on driver comfort and connectivity. Every Legacy includes keyless entry and a handy 60/40 split rear seat. Upgrading to the Premium adds a giant 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Subaru's STARLINK operating system, as well as a 10-way power front driver's seat and Dual-Zone Climate Control. The luxury-oriented Limited includes leather seating with cozy heated front and rear seats and an upgraded Harman Kardon premium audio system.

At the top of the trim range, the Legacy Touring XT includes all the features and equipment found on the Limited, plus Nappa leather seating with silver stitching, ventilated front seats, 1 180-degree front-view camera, and a power moonroof. Upper Legacy trims include a generous assortment of USB A and USB C ports scattered throughout the cabin, so everyone can stay fully charged.

Technology

A Vehicle That's Truly Fit for the Modern Age

If you love smartphone connectivity and advanced technology, you'll be right at home behind the wheel of a 2023 Subaru Legacy. Not only do upper trims feature a gigantic 11.6-inch touchscreen, but you'll also enjoy wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Easily control the cabin climate, audio, and vehicle data settings right from the intuitive touchscreen, and stream your favorite smartphone content with the touch of a button.

You can switch your touchscreen to Valet Mode to protect privacy settings and use it to access SiriusXM satellite radio and Travel Link connected navigation with real-time traffic updates. With these connected technologies, you'll avoid routes with heavy traffic and get to your destination with no wrong turns, thanks to the vivid map display and simple turn-by-turn directions.

Subaru's STARLINK system is capable of accepting over-the-air upgrades, so your operating system is always running on the most recent software. For the first time ever, the 2023 Legacy also includes what3words, a location technology that allows voice-activated navigation using just three spoken words that are pre-assigned to a growing network of specific businesses and locations.

As part of its commitment to safety, Subaru includes a robust suite of driver-assist technology. Called Subaru EyeSight, the system includes multiple different features that tap into onboard radar, sensors, and cameras to constantly monitor the area around the vehicle and provide feedback to the driver. The convenient DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System tracks driver attentiveness via an infrared camera and advanced facial recognition. If it senses you're losing focus, the system will alert you and suggest a break.

Safety

From Passive to Semi-Autonomous, the Legacy Has It All

Subaru is synonymous with safety, putting occupant well-being at the top of its list of priorities. Behind the wheel of a Legacy, you and your passengers are safer and more protected than ever before. The 2023 Legacy is built on the Subaru Global Platform. It's specifically designed for rigidity, but it's also engineered to absorb energy from crashes, so you stay as safe as possible, enveloped within a safety cage that keeps the impact of a crash away from the cabin.

Within the cabin are eight airbags, along with a robust suite of standard driver-assist technologies. Subaru's EyeSight suite includes Adaptive Cruise Control, which works by automatically adjusting your speed to current traffic conditions. It uses radar to sense the vehicle ahead and adapts your speed to keep a consistently safe distance away, giving you plenty of time to make emergency maneuvers if necessary. Also, the system includes Lane Centering, so you'll be alerted if you drift out of your lane.

Other EyeSight Driver-Assist systems include Pre-Collision Braking, which is capable of applying full braking to help avoid or minimize the severity of a crash. Also, new for the 2023 model year, the Legacy is available with Automatic Emergency Steering, a system that can perform evasive steering maneuvers to help you avoid a sudden obstruction or unexpected hazard. Sometimes our reflexes aren't quick enough to react, so the Legacy reacts for you.

Buyers have the option of adding other technologies, such as the available head-up display, which projects key driving data at eye level on the windshield. Also available is Reverse Automatic Braking, which works by automatically stopping the vehicle if it detects a hazard behind you as you're backing up. It's a lifesaver if you live on a busy road or if your weekly Saturday errands include pulling in and out of crowded parking lots.

As part of the expansive STARLINK connected services suite, you can add Automatic Collision Notification, which will alert emergency services when a crash is detected, and the Stolen Vehicle Recovery system, designed to find your car fast if it's stolen. Using STARLINK technology, you can use your smartphone to locate your vehicle, lock/unlock doors, sound the horn, and even start your Subaru remotely.
